Guido Tielman appointed Consul-General in Sydney

Guido Tielman has been appointed Consul-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Sydney, commencing in September.
He succeeds Hugo Klijn, who concluded his appointment at the end of July.
Tielman most recently served for five years as Representative of the Netherlands Office Taipei, leading the Netherlands’ engagement with Taiwan across trade, investment, innovation, culture and broader bilateral relations.
An experienced Dutch diplomat, he has previously served in Brussels, North Macedonia, Chongqing and Mumbai, as well as in several roles in The Hague. His work has included European affairs and the promotion of Dutch trade and investment in Asia.
As Consul-General, Tielman will lead the Consulate-General’s work in Sydney, including consular assistance for Dutch citizens and support for trade and investment between the Netherlands and Australia.
