16 May 2024 – Cycle for Change: Koen’s epic ride around the world for education in Sierra Leone

Talk by Koen Sachse about his cycling trip around the world.

$10 of each sold ticket will go towards building a school in Sierra Leone.

Join us for an inspiring presentation by Amsterdam-based Koen Sachse, as he nears the completion of his global cycling tour, with Sydney as his next stop. He has embarked on this journey to raise funds for a school in Sierra Leone. He will be sharing stories  from this epic cycling trip with us, before returning home to the Netherlands.

In January 2023 Koen set off from Amsterdam, The Netherlands on a quest to cycle around the world. His aim is is circumnavigate the globe by bike, crossing 30+ countries and four continents. After more than 23.000 kilometers he will arrive in Sydney soon. The total length of the trip will be more than 30.000 kilometers, before getting back to the capital city of the Netherlands and completing the full circumnavigation.
Koen is cycling to raise money to build a school in Africa. His aim is to provide a better future for the most underprivileged children, often working in diamond mines. Together with the Sunday Foundation (hence the name of the project ‘The Sunday Ride) he hopes to build a school in Sierra Leone after his trip.

Koen Sachse

In 2020 Amsterdam based Koen Sachse left his job as a marketing manager to set off on bicycle trip around the world. He founded the charity Sunday Ride, to raise funds for a school in Africa. He currently also works as a photographer at Media Agency Zien24.
