Dutch hospitality professional and entrepreneur Hidde van Erven Dorens has designed a special hands-on cooking workshop for Dutchlink at Dutch Club Neerlandia, where we’ll dive into the art of making the Netherlands’ most iconic snack — the bitterbal. This event will surely be a crowd pleaser!
Hidde will guide participants through the process step-by-step, sharing tips and techniques as we roll, bread, and fry our own creations. Whether you’re a seasoned Dutch home cook or just bitterballen-curious, it’s a fun, family-friendly afternoon of culinary connection. Attendees will also receive the recipe to try again at home.
And of course, we won’t just be making bitterballen — we’ll be tasting them too! The bar at Neerlandia will be open, so bring your appetite and settle in for a relaxed and gezellige afternoon with good food, drinks, and great company. This is also a great opportunity to introduce your Australian friends to the Netherlands’ most beloved snack — everyone is welcome!
Family-friendly fun
This event is perfect for all ages. If the weather is good, we’ll also set up a few casual games — like boules and croquet — on the lawn.
