Leadership, Legacy and Public Purpose

Alister Henskens is Member for Wahroonga, Shadow Attorney General and Manager of Opposition Business. Elected to the NSW Parliament in 2015, he has served across enterprise, science and innovation, skills, sport and as Leader of the House, with earlier roles including Families, Communities and Disability Services, Cabinet Secretary and Parliamentary Secretary for Finance. Alister has a strong connection to the Netherlands through his his father’s story as a young resistance fighter during WWII and the family’s post-war migration to Australia. Through his background as a barister, he brings perspective on lawmaking, innovatiton and international business opportunities for NSW.
The conversation will cover: The influence of personal and family history on values and public purpose; opportunities for NSW in the international business; law reforms and the influence of Dutch law; followed by a Q & A.
