Edition 5: Ron de Haan, Director Student Accommodation at University of New South Wales
This week Board Director Lieke Scherbeijn will interview Ron de Haan, Director Student Accommodation at University of New South Wales. We are curious about what he has to say about the impact of COVID-19 and the international students staying in their home countries.
Ron de Haan, has been working for UNSW since February 2015 as Director, Student Accommodation overseeing a portfolio of over 2,000 purpose-built student accommodation beds, both colleges and independent living. In this role, Ron is responsible for the strategic management of all UNSW owned and operated student accommodation. Prior to joining UNSW Ron worked for 10 years for Campus Living Villages, a major private provider of student accommodation interacting with many leading universities in both Australia and the UK.
Before getting involved with the education industry Ron worked for over 20 years in international hotels (on four different continents), predominantly with 5-star companies including Hilton International and the InterContinental Hotel Group. Ron is a graduate from the Hogere Hotelschool in The Hague, has an Executive MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and has recently completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
